Norpro Large Garlic Baker Review

Norpro Large Garlic Baker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Being a collector of kitchen gadgets, I purchased this a few years ago and it disappeared among the other items in my collection. I found it recently and bought some fresh garlic, drizzled it with olive oil, and sprinkled some fresh thyme over it. About 45 minutes later, the house was filled with the aroma of roasted garlic....YUMMM!!! I have used roasted garlic with mashed potatoes and will never again do it any other way. The Norpro works much better than foil as it bakes the garlic more evenly. I use this item all the time now and just toss it in the oven when I'm roasting another main dish or casserole. It's so good that you may find yourself wanting more than one, as there is nothing that tastes better than food smothered in roasted garlic.

Deni 7550 Digital Food Steamer Review

Deni 7550 Digital Food Steamer

I love this steamer. I got it to replace a two-tiered steamer I'd gotten over ten years ago. It heats up quickly and steams evenly, even though the baskets are large. I love the timer - no more winding and turning - and it's easily cleaned. The baskets nest so that they only take up the room of one basket while it's in the cabinet. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product. I'd purchase it again, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good steamer.

Nesco American Harvest 4842-25-30PR Non-Stick 12-Quart Convection Roaster Review

Nesco American Harvest 4842-25-30PR Non-Stick 12-Quart Convection Roaster
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally bought this because of the size: Bigger than my largest slow cooker, but smaller than my original 18 qt Nesco. It's small enough to fit on the countertop but can still turn out two, super moist, 5 lb. stuffed chickens in record time, when using the convection option. Stuffed peppers, sauerkraut and pork, scalloped potatoes and chili turned out wonderfully! The only negative is the hot steam that escapes when lifting the lid. One needs to be careful and make sure to keep arms protected. Also the edge/rim of the roaster gets very hot and can cause a burn if bumped. But that's the case with almost any cooking vessel. All in all I really love the versatility and extra "oven" this product provides. I can't wait to try baking desserts and trying the slow-cooker setting. The Nesco web site ([...] ) also offers a nice variety of additional recipes for this item.

Bayou Classic 5011 2-oz. Stainless Steel Seasoning Injector w/2 Stainless Needles: one for liquid marinaide, and one for minced herbs I went looking for something that would stand up to my hubby's heavy hand because the plastic 30cc Syringe and 14 g Spinal needle didn't. This product fits the bill. He can't break it! I like the side holes better than the end hole on a needle. Gets more flavoring where it's supposed to be. His venison ham was wonderful after injecting it with marinade. A little more $ but well worth it for an avid hunter or anyone who likes to inject their meat with flavorings/marinades. The injector for the dry products is just an added bonus!

Cajun Cookware Outdoor Stove 1 Burner Low Pressure Gas Burner & Stove Review

Cajun Cookware Outdoor Stove 1 Burner Low Pressure Gas Burner and Stove
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I brought this little burner trying to use it for slow burner using NG. I unscrewed the whole valve brass part out, and drilled with a really fine drill to make the hole little bigger to let me NG pass through.
However, to use with NG, I should add a metal plate to block some of the air intake from side of the brass valve, since NG is different from propane that could expand more in volume. Without block the air intake from the side, the fire could come back to the valve when you have the valve set very low.
In general, this is good buner. I am sure it will work great for propane.

Breville RC19XL Gourmet Rice Duo Review

Breville RC19XL Gourmet Rice Duo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The sturdy, stainless steel appearance of this model hides some design flaws. Foremost, the glass lid is ill-fitting on the base pot, providing lots of leeway for steam to escape during cooking. Secondly, the bell mechanism is, frankly, an overrated feature here. The sound produced is far too quiet for it to be practical in a busy kitchen. Despite these two shortcomings, the two stainless steel steaming baskets are very useful, and the Breville RC19XL succeeds best in its most important task: cooking rice to perfection. Overall, a not-too-pricey cost for a modern design and general practicality.

Multi-Stir Chef; Lower Temp Cooker; Simmer; Brown; Braise; Saute Review

Multi-Stir Chef; Lower Temp Cooker; Simmer; Brown; Braise; Saute
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little jewel is fabulous!! It is my number 2 machine. The number 1 is my microwave!! I was so hesitant about buying a stirring pot, but with my lifestyle it is now permanently on the top of the counter. I'm a farm wife. My husband can come home for supper/dinner at any time between 6PM and 1AM. I don't usually begin cooking until I see the whites of his eyes because food can be soooo unappealing when it has set for hours. Enter the stir pan. I can begin food at any reasonable time--say 5:20 PM. Then I can put it on low and let it stir anytime the heating element begins. This keeps the food warm. Then later, I can add more ingredients. Then if it finishes before he gets home, I can put it on warm again to hold the food with the stirring again on whenever the heating element turns on. I cooked taco meat over the course of 5 hours and it was perfect when I actually served it. Then another favorite of his--chipped beef and gravy over biscuits. The stir pan made excellent gravy, kept it warm, and when he showed up, all it took was a quick temperature adjustment to get the gravy pipping hot. That was one happy man. He thinks I'm nuts to use it all the time, but then he farms, I cook. He's happy about what comes out of it.
I took the little metal filter out of its little place in the lid because I didn't want to mess with cleaning it. My pot came with an extra handle that is long, so it could be a long handled pot. I thought I might like that better, but so far it works fine with two little ear handles. The lid goes in the dishwasher just fine.
I cooked fried potatoes. I kinda big cubed them, put it a little olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and turned on the auto stir. The potatoes tumbled, cooked, tumbled some more. Then they had to be put on warm to hold. Oh, they were tasty and perfect. Cook, hold, serve time--three hours. Normally, they would have been grease soaked disasters. Did it take three hours to actually cook them--of course not, it took that long for farmer guy to get home.
I LOVE not having to babysit food. I can go about other duties and let the stir pot take care of it. And it goes so very low that you can melt chocolate!! Make your own chocolate covered peanuts!
Remember actual homemade cooked pudding? Yup! This is your pan for that. Remember not being tied to stirring something over a hot stove? Course not--you didn't have one of these. Macaroni and cheese? Yup. Wisconsin cheese soup? Yup. No watching. Hours later, turn the heat up, auto stir, and serve in minutes!
It washes like a dream. Nothing sticks to it yet. It does have a non-stick coating that may become scratched so be careful.
I don't know why, but it doesn't seem to get a burned on film on the bottom. I don't care why, but I'm very grateful.
Get this little sucker and play with it. You wont' be disappointed.
The combination of adjustable heat and adjustable stirring is perfect.
I suppose only an idiot would start the thing and leave home, but you can sit and read a book, while this thing is doing your work. It is like a mini vacation where I can let my cares slide away.

Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inch Review

Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Deni electric skillet is large enough to fry a whole chicken, and is non stick. We like using it to save energy and keep the kitchen cool during the Summer. It also means no stove or cook top to clean, which is a real plus! Portable, too, to take that hot dish to the pot luck, and keep it hot! But compare to it the new RECTANGLE electric skillet: West Bend 72215 12-by-15-Inch Extra-Deep Skillet which is our favorite. The West Bend has even higher sides (3 inches) and is easier to use because it is not ROUND, but long - it measures 15 inches in length. We even bake an excellent lasagne in the West Bend because the lasagne noodles fit exactly! So we actually bought BOTH of these, but if forced to choose, the West Bend is a much better price and seems to be more useful.

A must-have for any busy kitchen, this large 12-by-15-inch electric skillet comes in handy for anything from pancakes and bacon in the morning to grilled-cheese sandwiches for lunch or beef stroganoff for dinner. Its variable temperature control makes it possible to warm, simmer, griddle, fry, saute, stir-fry, roast, or slow cook just about anything. Simply insert the adjustable temperature probe and turn the dial. The unit heats up quickly and provides a nonstick cooking surface, which helps promote lower-fat cooking (no need for butter or oils) and ensures effortless release of even the most delicate foods. Other highlights include a tempered glass lid with a stainless-steel rim and cool-touch handle, high walls to keep the food contained when stirring, and heat-resistant stainless-steel side handles for safely transporting the skillet from the kitchen counter to the table for use as a serving dish. Attractively housed in brushed stainless steel, the electric skillet measures approximately 12-1/5 by 14-1/2 by 4 inches.

I have used this grill basket for about 4 years now, and it stands up well. I find it works great for grill-blackening large salmon fillets. (butter & Paul Prudome's Red Fish seasoning - 4 minutes a side over hot coals on the Weber grill - Yum!)
You might expect cleanup could be a problem, but usually allow it to soak in dishwater while enjoying dinner and it cleans up in a flash.

Average Reviews:

A step up transformer is a conceptually simple item and I've never owned another model so I can't make a comparison. However, I can say that I was very happy with the fact that the product came with extra fuses. The case is metal, not plastic. I like that the input voltage is set with a jumper.. no accidentally hitting a switch. As you can see from the picture, 220V output can handle most plug configurations.

FAO Schwarz Baby Chef Cooker Food Processor Review

FAO Schwarz Baby Chef Cooker Food Processor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My baby was born in September of 2010 so I didn't start using my maker until early February 2011. Since then I have gone through two machines and the third one just broke two days ago! I never had any issues with the steamer part of the machine and it preformed as it was intended with no issues. All of my hatred towards this product is focused on the blender part; which in my opinion is the most important part of the machine! The first two machines I returned to the store (Babies R Us) was because the rubber ring seal came out of the blender during food processing and was chopped up into my baby's food. Wasted time, money and endangering my baby. The only reason I knew it happened was because I ran the food through a sieve and found the plastic pieces. After the seal was gone I still tried to use the machine but, of course, it then leaked everywhere every time I tried to process purees. The third machine, that broke two days ago, is now thrown in my garage! I went to snap the blender into the base for processing, as you have to use the blender because of a safety feature, and the doggone tab snapped off rendering the blender completely nonfunctioning! This whole experience with this product has been a costly hassle! I've since switched to a stick blender and the microwave for making my daughters food. It's actually less clean up, costs way less and is a heck of a lot less likely to break or ruin my baby's food. Don't waste your time with this product. But a $16 emersion blender!

This grill is great for cooking a quick meal. In fact, we often need to begin the side dishes before the steak and chicken as this unit is so efficient. The searing feature locks in the juices. To eliminate clean up hassles as listed in previous reviews (must wipe the cooking surface down before it cools), we cover it in aluminum foil which makes clean up a breeze! The cooking guide that comes with the grill does a good job with estimating the cooking time on your favorite meats. Convenient size for storing as well. Very pleased with the purchase. This replaced another indoor grill we had for nearly 20 years that finally quit working. We are very pleased with the purchase!

5.5 Qt. Oval Smart Pot - Black Review

5.5 Qt. Oval Smart Pot - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first slow cooker, so I can't compare it to others on the market but can at least provide some feedback about the product. I wanted a programmable slow cooker so that it would automatically shut off once the meal was done cooking. With this cooker, you can only set it to cook on high for 4 or 6 hours, or on low for 8 or 10 hours. These are the only options. If I wanted to cook something on low for 6 hours, I wouldn't be able to. Well, I could set it to cook for 8 hours and then make sure I'm home to monitor it, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of a programmable slow cooker? Also, I've had to stop cooking meals an hour or so in advance because it would have overcooked - perhaps this cooker runs a little warmer than most? I've read other reviews about Rival slow cookers and this seems to be pretty common.
